Somerville promove "Conversa com a Polícia" em português para fortalecer laços com a comunidade imigrante

A Prefeitura de Somerville, em Massachusetts, em parceria com o SomerViva Office of Immigrant Affairs e a Polícia local, realizará no próximo dia 26 de fevereiro de 2025 o evento "Conversa com a Polícia". A iniciativa, que acontecerá às 18h30 por meio da plataforma Zoom, tem como objetivo aproximar a comunidade de língua portuguesa dos agentes de segurança pública, promovendo diálogo e transparência.
O encontro contará com a presença do Tenente Diogo e da Oficial Edna, policiais que falam português e atuam diretamente em Somerville. Eles estarão disponíveis para responder perguntas, esclarecer dúvidas e compartilhar informações sobre o trabalho da polícia na cidade. A prefeita Katjana Ballantyne reforçou a importância do evento para fortalecer a confiança entre os imigrantes e as instituições locais.
"Este é um espaço aberto para que todos possam se sentir mais seguros e informados sobre como a polícia atua em nossa comunidade. Queremos que todos se sintam acolhidos e representados", destacou a prefeita.
O evento será realizado integralmente em português, garantindo acessibilidade para os falantes da língua.
